Is there a political fight in the country nastier than the battle between same-sex marriage opponents and advocates? The latest is litigation brought by opponents of marriage equality against the Courage Campaign, a California progressive network with more than 700,000 members.
Courage, which supports same-sex marriage and the wisdom of having a sense of humor, has been using a logo for its Prop 8 trial tracker that is similar to the logo of the Prop 8 supporting/gay marriage hating Protect Marriage organization. The Protect Marriage logo, visible on the top of this web page, shows figures of a man (in pants) and a woman in a skirt) with two little children beneath to represent family.
Courage's Prop 8 tracker logo, visible on top of this web page, has essentially the same figures except there are except the man from Protect Marriage is now a woman.
A judge denied the Protect Marriage request for a restraining order. But the case continues, until the pro-Prop 8 side figures out that this is a moment for a strategic surrender.
